Haldorson Genealogy

The Haldorson family came to America straight from Norway. Clyde should be right around 25% and yet, his DNA tests out at around 33%. Maybe he got some from his father. Either way, according to census records, Ole Haldorson made the journey to America in 1865 and Marit came with her family in 1870.

Ole was born 18 APR 1854 at Aurdal, Nord-Aurdal kommune, Oppland fylke, Norway and Marit Syversen was born 18 DEC 1863 also in Norway. Probably in Svenes, Norway.

Upon embarking into our nation, they next traveled to Wisconsin each with their own families. We do not know today if they were familiar with each other then. Soon, they were both, separately, on their way to North Dakota. It was in North Dakota that they were married in, and where several of their children were born, including, Clyde’s grandfather, Ludwig Platou Haldorson along with his twin, Lennie.
